Explore Creativity in Nature
Carnival of Plants Drawing Workshops
Join us to get to know nature through sketching. No experience required. Informed by Therapeutic Horticulture and community practise.
We understand ‘cognitive health conditions’ to refer to brain functioning, learning, and behavior that differs from the societal standard, divided into innate (from birth, e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia) or acquired (developed later via trauma, illness, or injury, e.g., PTSD). Both forms represent non-typical cognitive styles. It is also known as neurodivergence and includes anxiety and depression.
We understand ‘physical health conditions’ to refer to any illness, injury, disease, or dysfunction affecting the body which is long-term (chronic). These conditions often require ongoing management, such as diabetes, asthma, or cancer. A physical health condition can also mean cardiovascular conditions, respiratory, endocrine disorders, metabolic, muscoskeletal pain and conditions which require the taking medication or using mobility aids.
We are running these sessions with the idea that we build information on how art and similar activities can be made accessible to people in the community. We will not be asking for evidence of health conditions, we know that conditions can be visible and invisible. Your experience will be valuable to the workshop and discussion.
We are interested in the kinds of steps we can take as an organisation to make classes easier to attend.
