Tree Planning & Planting Events
Sìdh Chailleann Art has committed to planting trees at Dunnet Forest with community volunteers in a series of creative planning & tree-planting events to collaborate on the future of Caithness’s reforestation endeavors.
We are in the planning stages of this collaborative project.
A great volunteering opportunity for families and organisations;
The planting itself would consist of:
– In person meeting in September to visit Dunnet Forest (3 hours)
– In person meeting in October to discuss the tree-planting (3 hours)
– Attending 5 days’ worth of tree planting at Dunnet Forest (whichever times and dates suit)
September
Creative Planning sessions with Sìdh C Art & Garance at Dunnet Forest
Establish volunteer guidelines, a forest walk, and start conversations about how tree planting can positively impact physical and mental health.
Sessions will last about 3 hours & @Dunnet Forest
October
Establishing a concrete 5-day tree-planting schedule
Session will last 3 hours & @Haven Coffee Shop
November
5 days of 4-hour Tree Planting Sessions @Dunnet Forest
Volunteers are asked to attend at least 3/5 planting sessions
December
Celebration-Final Gathering @Haven Coffee Shop
