Cally

My name is Cally, I’ve been working in Community Arts Delivery for around 10 years and am the ideas guy behind “Legends of Caithness”.
I like to strengthen links between the people, industries and landscape through art and I hope to do that with this exhibition of local people’s work in the summer. I am also invested in starting conversations through workshops and training sessions which I have found valuable in the past.

It’s been amazing to see how the Caithness landscape has inspired unique legends such as the selkies and mermaids, and the ways these stories have been passed down through generations. I hope to be part of the preservation of these tales.

Niluka

Hi! My name is Niluka, and I’m super excited to be your last team member on the “Legends of Caithness” committee. I’m new to Scotland, and have been inspired by the rich history and culture present in Caithness. I believe that stories and people connect us to our past, and more importantly, shape our future. I hope to use my experience in research and finance to increase accessibility, improve funding allocations for the area, and have a great time with members of the community!

Julie Hoggarth

Creative Project Manager

My passion is creating links between artists, organisations and individuals in order to allow creativity to flow and develop. I see arts administration as a creative process in itself, with potential to help us see our work in new ways, by devising pathways, opening up new windows and providing the necessary resources.

I’m thrilled to work with Sidh Chaillean Arts, which is effectively placing arts back where it belongs, in the hands of the people at the centre of community life.
